My first ever oil painting! The assignment was to only use black and white paint. Picture was referenced from a Prairie Warbler photo in some calendar I had. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I've taken a liking to oils already. 11" x 15" on Rives BFK white. I'd really like to upload more of my oil paintings, but I don't have a digital camera and they're all way too big to scan. I'll try to get my hands on a friend's camera though, since I'm really proud of all the paintings I did last quarter.

My second woodblock. This one was so fun. Inspired by Planet Earth. I worked really hard on this and I'm quite proud of it. A little bit of the image got cut of in scanning, but nothing too major. This was probably my favorite print I made in my printmaking class. I really want to make more images similar to this, maybe make a series. Printed on Unryu paper

So I took Intro to Printmaking over the summer. This was my first woodblock relief! 8+ hours of carving, but it was worth it. Also, I seriously think more furry/anthro artists should get into printmaking. It's a style I rarely see in this little subculture of art, and I personally love it now. It allows you to "draw" in a familiar way but forces you to stretch your abilities and really make use of the materials. DO PRINTMAKING GAIS. Printed on Rives white paper.
